What the charity does: SOS Kinderdorf is an independent, non-governmental
international development organization, which has been working to meet the
needs and protect the
interests and rights of children.
The organization’s work focuses on abandoned, destitute and orphaned
children requiring family-based childcare. Millions of children worldwide
are living without their biological families for a variety of reasons
including:
Parental separation,
Domestic violence and neglect,
They have lost their parents due to war or natural catastrophes,
Such children are supported to recover from being emotionally traumatised
and to avoid real danger of being isolated, abused, exploited and deprived
of their rights.

BOY: aged 6 – 10. He is a bit of a dreamer, a loner.
Sometimes lost in a world of his own.
Hes highly perceptive, but not great at the social stuff.
He always puts on a brave face when around other people, but it is in the
moments that he is alone that we see he is hungry (which to us appears to be
sadness).
We care about him.
We root for him.
We want him to get whatever it is he wants.
We want to give him a sandwich and a cuddle
He needs to be engaging and have a memorable face and character to bring the
story to life.
The key here is authenticity.
He should be a real little dude, with multifaceted layers of character and
genuine inherent kindness (although at first we might mistake this for
shyness/loneliness).
For him this isnt acting, it is his life.
He should be believable and genuine
With an interesting face
